Complex Mathematics Education: An Integrated and Inquiry-Based Mathematics Teaching Method

Abstract Little is available in mathematics education research about what the teacher can anticipate from students when applying inquiry-based learning (IBL). Even less known how to recognize and exploit on spot a mathematical domain, other than one focus, activated students’ minds. Yet, tests, everyday life, labour market, it common face problems that require interrelated thinking. Although of unique advantages complex (CME) coherence between different domains CME has been practiced for over half century Hungary, Hungarian line IBL only recently joined international methodological mainstream. In this paper, I summarize segment correspondent integrated education, illustrate possible divergence solutions during implementation with an example emerged probability game fifth-grade class.
